The Nutritionist's Role in Health Primary Care

RESUMO
O presente estudo propõe uma reflexão sobre a importância da atuação do nutricionista nas ações da Atenção Básica de Saúde. O objetivo é apresentar argumentos que mostrem o quanto é indispensável o papel da nutrição como área estratégica da Atenção Primária, incluindo assim a prevenção, promoção, tratamento e reabilitação da saúde. No entanto a participação desse profissional ainda é restrita e pontual. Sendo assim, a inserção deste profissional nos programas que englobam a Atenção Básica de Saúde, torna-se fundamental para a mudança do perfil nutricional da população. Nesta perspectiva, observa-se que a nutrição ainda está se apropriando de suas atribuições na Atenção Básica de Saúde, uma vez quer vários estudos mostram a ausência deste profissional. No entanto, este é o único profissional com formação, apto para o desenvolvimento das práticas de alimentação e nutrição, de maneira a colaborar para a promoção da saúde.
ABSTRACT
This study proposes a reflection on the importance of the role of the nutritionist in the primary health care actions The objective is to present arguments that show how indispensable the role of nutrition as a strategic area of primary care, including prevention, promotion, treatment and rehabilitation. However the participation of this professional is still restricted and punctual. Thus, the inclusion of this professional in the programs that comprise the primary health care, it is essential to change the nutritional profile of the population. In this perspective, there is that nutrition is still appropriating its tasks in primary health care, once or several studies show the absence of this professional. However, this is the only professional trained, fit for the development of food and nutrition practices, in order to contribute to the promotion of health.
