Effectiveness of a Nutritional Intervention Based on “Operational Group” Strategy Palavras-chave - educação alimentar e nutricional, educação em saúde, hábitos alimentares, promoção da saúde. Keywords - food and nutrition education, health education, food habits, health promotion Resumo Abstract “Operational group” represents a collective technique of work, which purpose is to promote learning, and because of that, it can be use in health interventions. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a nutritional intervention based on “operational group” strategy in a health promotion service of Belo Horizonte/MG. The intervention was conducted among adults and elderly and consisted on four meetings which addressed the general aspects of healthy eating. Knowledge constructed by participants, applicability and satisfaction of the intervention were evaluated. The group consisted on 16 individuals, 87.5% females, 50.5±4.8 years old and 75.1% overweight. It was identified an increment on the knowledge questionnaire average (1.9±1.1 vs. 2.4±0.9, p=0.026) and participants referred a maximum median of five points of applicability of the concepts in daily life and 83.3% declared have enjoyed the intervention. The group enabled knowledge related to healthy eating that could be applicable in daily life. Recebido – 28/5/2012 aprovado: 15/9/2012 |
