Nutritional Assessment and Food Consumption in Chronic Renal Failure Patients Treated by Hemodialysis.

RESUMO
O objetivo do estudo foi avaliar o estado nutricional e a adequação dietética dos pacientes em hemodiálise. Foram avaliados 29 pacientes da clínica INEMAT de Cuiabá-MT, utilizando-se parâmetros antropométricos, bioquímicos e recordatório de 24 horas. Os resultados mostraram que 56% dos homens e 69% das mulheres obtiveram a relação cintura quadril (RCQ) acima dos valores de referência e da média do índice de massa corporal (IMC) adequada. No entanto, em 31% dos pacientes o IMC estava acima de 25kg/m2. Os valores de hematócrito e hemoglobina foram inferiores ao ideal. O consumo de energia foi de 45,10±22,7 kcal/kg/dia (homens) e 31,3±16,7 kcal/kg/dia (mulheres), contudo em 69,24% das mulheres foi de <35kcal/kg/dia. Este estudo reforça a necessidade do nutricionista monitorando a ingestão alimentar dos pacientes, prevenindo a manifestação de desnutrição e outras doenças.
ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to evaluate the nutritional status and dietary adequacy of hemodialysis patients. 29 patients were evaluated at the INEMAT clinic Cuiabá-MT, using anthropometric, biochemical end 24-hour recall parameter. The results showed 56% of men and 69% of women had a waist-hip ratio (WHR) above the reference values and mean body mass index (BMI) adequate, however 31% of patients were above 25kg/m2. The values of hematocrit and hemoglobin levels were less than ideal. The energy consumption was 45,10±22,7 kcal/kg/day (men) and 31,3±16,7 kcal/kg/day (women), however 69,24% of the women was <35kcal/kg/day. This study reinforces the need for nutritionists monitoring the food intake of patients, preventing the manifestation of malnutrition and other ailments.
